That patriot of "Little England" GK Chesterton said more than a century ago: "The British Empire may annex what it likes, it will never annex England. It has not even discovered the island, let alone conquered it" (Tremendous Trifles).

Chesterton called abortion a "more than usual barbaric form of birth control," and predicted that what was being done to babies then, would also eventually be done to people at the other end of life.

"When people stop believing in God," GK Chesterton is widely believed to have said, "they don't believe in nothing - they believe in anything."

MEDIA ADVISORY, March 2 /Christian Newswire/ -- In his Autobiography, GK Chesterton mentions creating the "well-known and widespread national game of Gype" with his friend, HG Wells, although the game has never been invented - until now.

For example, when GK Chesterton wrote that, "anything worth doing is worth doing badly" I think he was worried about the tendency of "modern" people to pay good money to see other people do for us what we ordinarily enjoy doing for ourselves.
